Testimonials for Joseph Palazzolo

Attending a Joseph Palazzolo concert is fun, exciting, and musically fulfilling. Joseph's upbeat, out-going personality is projected into his very technically proficient playing. This makes for an animated, lively performance. He makes a concert enjoyable by talking with the audience about some interesting facet of the particular piece being performed. This lets us in on an inside story of the music. I also really enjoy the programming itself. He always performs a great variety of repertoire, many of the pieces being proven audience favorites, none of which are so long that you lose your attention. Attending a Joseph Palazzolo concert provides the listener with a very positive experience.

Joseph Palazzolo's concerts are a delight! His love and passion of music are expressed in intelligent interpretation; excellence of performance; and an over-all energetic approach in presentation, filled with verve and enthusiasm, which his audiences respond to and thoroughly enjoy.

My friend Joseph Palazzolo is giving a recital on Nov. 3rd. Last year, I braved some very bad weather to hear him and was glad I did, I was so impressed by his playing and his presentation. This year's program is even more interesting to me since he is premiering a piece of a Composer I introduced him to: Rene Becker. This is the very piece he will play at our CMSC on January 28, 2007 at Marygrove.

-Nadine Deleury

What an exciting performance! Palazzolo dazzled the audience with a stunning interpretation of the Waldstein, then brought us down gently with his rapturous rendition of Autumn Leaves. His brief intros to the pieces provided just the right mix of humor and information. The audience gave him quite an ovation, and it was deserved.

-J. Gerardi, Grosse Pte. Farms, MI

Joseph Palazzolo is a pianist with technique to burn, but even his tour de force display pieces are always informed with a rare sensitivity to period and style.

His programs are a model mix of rarities that broaden the listeners’ musical experience and familiar pieces, both classical and popular, which entertain and please the audience. His patter between numbers offers a hilarious introduction to musical history and interpretation for new concertgoers and often a fresh point of view on the music even for seasoned fans of the piano.

Speaking as one of the seasoned concertgoers, I have always enjoyed Mr. Palazzolo’s performances. Witty, erudite and entertaining, he is not afraid to give the audience a music lesson inside a great show.

-Les Green

Beyond technical excellence, I am struck by the wonder of the musical moment when Joseph shares his talent and passion for great music. . .and my spirit grows.

. . .he is an all-around musician capable of creating and performing excellent music. He also has what is known as “charisma,” this invaluable quality of the true performer. . .

My most pleasant contact with Mr. Joseph Palazzolo’s artistry as a musician has been at liturgical celebrations. I have found them to be some of the best in the whole archdiocese. In part, that is attributable to his skill in selecting music for the celebrations and his artistry in presenting the music, whether it be organ or piano. For these reasons, it always has been a joy.
